What Kind of Coffee Drink Are You?

coffee beansAs I write this post I am sitting in a nice comfy brown leather chair at the back of Starbucks, diligently typing away on  my computer as I sip a white mocha latte with an extra shot of espresso. Delicious. And energizing, I must say.

Coffee houses are more popular than ever. Coffee seems to be the fuel that keeps America going. Whether you are a Starbucks regular, Dunkin Donuts fan or even a McCafe lover,  you know how important that cup of joe is to start off your day just right.

But just because most of us love the bean, we don’t all love it in the same way. As I look around the room here, I would expect to mostly see business types with cappucinos, but in fact, there is a harried mom taking a raw shot of espresso, a contruction guy by the fireplace talking on his blackberry and sipping a regular black cup of coffee of the day, and a couple of teens ordering frozen concoctions.

Which Celebrity Couple Are You?

As most of you have already guessed, Hollywood actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are the most powerful celebrity couple on the planet, and a new study confirms it. The star pair scored a perfect 30 on 30 on a test that used a formula to work out how much stronger they are together than they would be individually, just passing David and Victoria Bechkam, who scored 25 on the test, to win the victory.

The public today is completely obsessed with celebrity couples, even giving them the new combo name like Brangeline and Bennifer.  News about the ups and downs of these relationships completely rule the covers of magazines such as People, Us Weekly, and In Touch. We now know every detail about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Jon and Kate Gosselin and any romantic issues of Jessica Simpson or Jennifer Aniston.

Some of these relationship seem doomed from the start, but some actually seem to work out. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have been married for over 12 years. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett have been married over 11, and John Travolta and Kelly Preston are over 13.  Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have been married for over 20!

Which “Office” Character Are You?

the office season2Scranton’s most outrageous workforce has become one of the most popular sitcoms on TV today. With obnoxious regional manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell) and his fellow paper pushers Dwight (Rainn Wilson), Jim (John Krasinski),  and Ryan (B.J. Novak)  we watch as they steal each other’s customers, frame co-workers, indulge in intra-office love affairs and just plain behave badly while a documentary film crew captures their every word and misdeed.

My personal favorite was when Jim molded Dwight’s stapler in green Jello. I was actually so happy about it, that I tried it on one of my own co-workers. Unfortunately, I couldn’t quite get the Jello to set up well enough and it was all runny. But I digress. (Come on, I know you at least thought about it.)

One of the reason The Office is such a hit is that the characters are so over the top.  You can’t possibly imagine real people behaving that way.  Until you are sitting watching it… you can’t help but start to think of someone in your own life who kind of is a Michael or a Ryan.  Of course, if you know someone that is like Dwight I would be very afraid for you.  But have you ever asked yourself which of these characters is most like YOU?

Which Workout is Best for You?

Alaskan hikerA few years ago I joined a gym. I wanted to get some consistent excercise into my schedule and thought that with the great variety of classes, machines, and even pool, that I would be looking forward every day to my trip there without ever getting bored. Unfortunately, I was dead wrong.

What I came to find out years later, is that I am an outdoor independent excercise type.  The best workout for me is one that is always outdoors and something that I can do on my own time schedule with no one else involved. If I had known that before I started excercising I could have saved myself a lot of wasted time and money. Thankfully, I now am an avid walker/jogger and can be found out side, happily excercising 5 days a week.

Basically, every person is different. One thing that motivates one person will only dampen anothers enthusiasm. If you are having a hard time excercising, it might not be that you don’t like to excercise, it might just be that you haven’t find the right workout that fits your excercise style.

Which TV Family Do You Belong In?

the simpsonsWhen you are sitting with friends flipping through the chanels and happen to land on the Simpsons, do any of the characters ever remind you of any of YOUR relatives?  Is your dad a bit unconventional and your mother in charge?  Do you have a genius little sister or a skateboarding smart aleck little brother?  One reason that the Simpsons has become so popular, is that is doesn’t show the perfect TV family, but a more realistic, sarcastic view of dysfunctional family life.

Of course, the same reason that made the Simpsons so popular is quite the opposite of what made the Cosby Show so popular years before. In that show, the family is almost the ideal. Cliff and Clair Huxtable are a doctor and lawyer living in a high end area who are very well off financially. They love their children and use each moment to teach them a new lesson. Maybe they are more like your own family.

Many of you might remember Inspector Gadget, the lovable crime-solving cartoon character who had various gadgets built into his body, including a magnifying glass, a propeller and a giant sunflower that squirts water coming out of his hat.
